• Compensation Plan Update / Development

    • During this part of my internship, I worked with my mentor as one of her functions in her role as Executive Director of Human Resources is to develop and update the district's compensation plan. We disucussed what components are included in this comprehensive document. We deliberated on such topics as the definition of job promotion; pay ranges and pay scales - how these are calculated and the impact on a district budget when changes to either of these are made; and numerous adjustments that needed to be made based on a state Office of Civil Rights audit.

  • Career & Technical Education (CTE) Teacher Certification match with CTE Courses

    • In this project, I combined multiple documents to ensure that principals making programmatic decisions could easily determine what type of course they would need to offer to support a given career pathway and what type of teaching certificate a CTE teacher must hold to teach that course.  This is a challenge for many campus administrators as CTE utilizes various teaching certifications with the inventory of courses that could be offered within a given career cluster and pathway.

  • Professional Contract Types
    • In this project, I developed an “at a glance” document that would provide campus administrators with information regarding the different employment contract types that professional employees traditionally posses.  Often, during contract renewal season, campus administrators are faced with tough decisions and may not use correct language during conferences for the record or could miss deadlines which could cause budgetary challenges.  This document outlines board policies with each of the types of contracts so that campus administrators could have at hand during this time of year.
